      Topic
      :

The presentation will focus on methods for helping clients create coherent narratives of their early life attachment experiences.  This allows them to develop a sense of inner security. Dr. Firestone will draw upon research and outline the process of writing a coherent narrative. Findings in neurobiology show that when a person writes a coherent narrative, they rewire their brain to feel more secure within themselves and their relationships. Creating a coherent narrative is the process of developing earned secure attachment.

       Learning Objectives:

      1. Describe the two practices clients can engage in to develop more inner security
      2. Identify two exercises clients can utilize to help them identify their early attachment adaptations
      3. List five guideline recommendations for clients to write a coherent narrative.
